Dr. Marc Faber
Dr. Marc Faber is the editor and publisher of the widely read investment newsletter, The Gloom, Boom and Doom Report, which unearths unique and lesser-known investment opportunities. Dr. Faber also serves as a regular contributor to top investment publications, including the Strategic Investment newsletter.
Marc Faber is well known in the book publishing world as well, having authored several books including Tomorrow's Gold-Asia's Age of Discovery in 2002. Tomorrow's Gold held a spot on Amazon's best seller list for a brief period and has been translated into several foreign languages. In 1998, Nury Vittachi made Dr. Marc Faber the focus of his book, Riding the Millennial Storm.
Born in Switzerland, Marc Faber was educated in Geneva and Zurich, and obtained his PhD in Economics from the University of Zurich at the age of 24.
Most of Dr. Faber's time over the last 20-plus years has been spent in Hong Kong, where he concentrates on the Asian market and advises clients on niche-specific value investments with tremendous upside. He served as managing director of Drexel Burnham Lambert from 1978 to 1990 before establishing his own investment advisor and brokerage business.
Dr. Marc Faber speaks regularly on the investment circuit, often drawing on his alternative or contrarian investing philosophies.
